Since its first development by DuPont in 1974, traditional SGA adhesives (second generation of acrylic adhesive) have been widely used in industrial fields due to their many outstanding advantages.
• High curing efficiency:
It can cure quickly at room temperature, and the curing speed can be flexibly adjusted. Temperature has a significant impact on its curing process.
• Suitable for automated production:
The two-component feature makes it easy to use without strict measurement, which is conducive to realizing automated production processes.
• Strong surface adaptability:
It has loose requirements for material surface treatment and has the ability to bond oil surfaces.
• Wide application range:
It can bond many types of materials, especially suitable for profile assembly scenarios.
• Excellent bonding strength:

However, traditional SGA adhesives have a significant defect: they use methyl methacrylate (MMA) as the main monomer, which emits an almost suffocating strong odor. This problem has caused a series of chain reactions:
• Affecting operational comfort:
The pungent odor can easily cause discomfort to operators.
• Threatening physical health:
MMA has a paralyzing effect on the human nervous system, and long-term exposure may damage health.
• Increasing enterprise costs:
Enterprises need to invest heavily in purchasing efficient ventilation equipment and exhaust gas collection devices to improve the on-site working environment.
Under the global trend of sustainable manufacturing, workers are increasingly resistant to strong-smelling adhesives, particularly on enclosed production lines in the electronics industry.

In contrast, low-odor SGA adhesives have largely solved the odor problem.
